Everyone in golf right now is describing the same thing: the rush, the brands, the formats, the energy. That's table stakes observation. The harder question is what this looks like on the other side of it — which of these bets compound, which structures actually get built, who's still in the room when the novelty burns off. The opportunity isn't noticing that golf is having a moment. It's being early to what the moment leaves behind. Because underneath the noise, the shift is real.
Golf doesn't have to be everything to everyone — it just has to keep evolving for the people who see more in it. It can be the kind of game people grow up around, pick up casually, and come back to for life. A game woven into how people spend time, not gated behind a clubhouse or a culture that fits one archetype. We don't need it to become anyone's identity. We don't care if you play once a year or five times a week, or what your handicap is. We care about getting more people swinging a club for the first time, more people on a course, more people in the game, opening up experiences and opportunities along the way through family, friends, and business.
The course has become an arena for connection, for any and all types of people. We believe that deeply, and we're building an ecosystem that keeps that growth and connection compounding.
Anyway, before we get ahead of ourselves, hi we’re Brekky 👋
What Brekky Golf actually is
We're not an agency. We're not a fund. We're not an accelerator. Brekky Golf is a venture studio for early-stage golf businesses. We find early companies with sharp teams and real ideas that just need the right pressure applied in the right places. That can mean funding, but it also means building operational processes, writing pitch decks, setting up CRMs, sourcing hires, and brokering partnerships. We help bring brands to life.
We're also not in the business of writing checks, then leaving you alone to figure it out. We want to step into the ring with founders to help them build what they dream of building.
We came into this from different directions and industries, and we believe that’s been our advantage.
We’ve been inside the rooms where major brands have been built, funded, and scaled — and they've seen what happens when the pieces are missing.
That experience matters because early-stage companies don't need another deck telling them what to do, they need people who've been inside it and can make judgment calls in real time.
The gaps we keep seeing
Gap 1: Most golf brands have one of two problems.
They’re funded, but they have no direction, no brand identity, and no real plan to scale. Or they have a great brand identity, an incredible plan, and a talented leadership team… but not enough funding to get where they know they can go.
Brekky can partner with both.
Gap 2: The golf world needs outside perspective to reach its true potential.
The golf world is small. That makes it hard for new brands to break through — and it's exactly why bringing in operators from outside the industry is one of the biggest advantages a growing golf brand can have right now. People who built things in gaming, entertainment, music, and tech: the industries golf is increasingly intersecting with.
There's a version of this where lifelong golf operators team up with people who've played the game forever but built careers elsewhere — and with people just discovering golf now. That's the super team.
If we want to grow the TAM, we need to partner with builders who are seeing golf for the first time, who see it for what it is today rather than what it used to be. Naïve is our friend here.
That's what Brekky is built to fix. When the game changes shape, the people who built it for what it was aren't always the ones who can build it for what it's becoming. That's not a knock — it's just how it works. The longer you've operated inside one world, the harder it is to see the edges of it clearly. Rigidity isn't a character flaw. It's what happens when experience calcifies into assumption.
What hospitality, streetwear, and media figured out — golf is just now learning. How to make a space feel like a world. How to build a community around a product before the product even exists. How to turn an audience into a culture. These aren't new problems. They're solved problems — just not in golf yet. The founders coming in from those industries aren't starting from scratch. They already ran the play somewhere else. They're just running it here now.
That's the edge. Not that they love golf more. Not that they have better ideas. But that they've already done the hard part somewhere else — and now they're applying it to a game that's ready for it.
This is the moment for operators who see the gap and have the range to fill it. That's who we're looking for. That's who we're building with.
What this newsletter is
We're writing this for the builders. The ones who live and breathe the game and are starting to wonder if the skills they've sharpened somewhere else — in tech, media, consumer, sports, finance, wherever — might have a home here. Golf is opening up, and the next wave of people moving it forward won't all come from inside it. Some of you are already circling. This is for you.
We'll share how we're thinking about where the industry is heading, from the perspective of the people betting on it. And if you're ready to make the jump, we want to hear from you. We're actively placing talent into roles across our portfolio and client base — head over to brekkygolf.com/careers to throw your name in. Golf brought us together. Hopefully it pulls you in too.
